What is SDI?

Strength Deployment Inventory

SDI is About Relationships.

Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) is a self-assessment tool that helps people understand what gives them a sense of self-worth and what’s important to them when relating with others. SDI is a practical and useful self-awareness inventory that increases relationship effectiveness. It is a life inventory based on relationship awareness theory, a validated self-assessment tool that delivers proven business and personal outcomes by decreasing the underlying conflicts that diminish relationships.

SDI is about relationships. Effective relationships are essential to business success. Imagine how much more effective your business and personal relationships would be if you really understood how other people see things…and could put this awareness into practice. It would be like having an instruction manual for relating with your colleagues!

From the researches on the world market so far, it has been noticed that:

  • 2.8 working hours per day are lost in unnecessary conflict situations or in translation about $ 389 billion paid working hours per year in conditions of global economic crisis.

  • 25% of employees stated that the conflict resulted in illness or absence from work.

  • Unfortunately, as many as 85% of employees say that the stress they experience during the day is a stress that arises from conflict situations in the workplace.

  • 78% of managers say they suffer from stress at work.

  • Another study found that on average, managers lose as much as 30% of their time in conflict situations.

If we take into account the saying "Time is money" then the time spent on any conflict or bad communication means losing money.

Employees in a company often leave, and even loyal employees leave because of poor, insufficient and bad communication with their colleagues or their managers. The cost of the hiring process and training of new staff can reach up to 150% of the annual salary of an employee. The cost of hiring and training new managers can be much higher.

The power of SDI is in how quickly and easily it gets people connecting and really talking to each other.

Here is the list of international companies that use this methodology: AT&T, AUDI, Microsoft, First Union National Bank, Volkswagen, Harvard Business School, KODAK, Price Water Coopers, SAP America, T-Mobile, NIKE.
